Your agent can now meet visitors on your website
Every Qlynk Agent has a hosted qlynk.site address. The website widget adds the same focused agent to an existing site, so visitors can ask questions without leaving the page they are viewing.
Qlynk hosts the widget code and agent experience. You paste a generated script once, and Qlynk serves subsequent widget updates through that installation.
Install it in four steps
- Create an installationOpen Website Widget in the Qlynk dashboard and give the installation a name.
- Choose the experienceSelect the bottom-left or bottom-right position, set a launcher color, and decide whether to show a pre-chat form.
- Restrict the websitesAdd the exact website origins that are allowed to load the installation. One installation can allow up to ten origins.
- Paste the scriptCopy the generated script and add it before the closing body tag on the website.
Control visitor details before chat
The optional pre-chat form can ask for a visitor name and can include an email field. The email field can be optional or required. You can also write a short introduction explaining why the information is requested.
Only collect details that you need, explain their purpose, and keep the website’s privacy information current. The widget can also run without the pre-chat form.
Security is tied to the installation
Each widget installation uses an opaque installation identifier rather than placing the owner’s username in the embed script. Qlynk can restrict loading to the exact HTTP or HTTPS origins saved for that installation, and an owner can disable the installation from the dashboard.
The installation resolves to the current owner and agent configuration. This means changing the public Qlynk username does not require replacing the widget snippet.
Test before announcing it
Open the website on desktop and mobile, confirm the launcher does not cover important controls, start a conversation, and test the intended handoff. If the widget does not appear, check that the installation is enabled and that the exact website origin—including the correct scheme and subdomain—is allowed.
